Continentals Succum To Walkill FC 2-0

(Madison,NJ)- The Morristown 1776 AFC failed to continue their winning ways last night falling 2-0 to third place, Walkill FC at Madison High School.

The Continental Boys held a clean sheet until the 41st minute dispite a lack of possession and constant defending under the threat of thunderstorms.

Leading scorer Peter Luthi suffered a pulled hamstring in the 20th minute and is currently listed as day to day, the lack of Luthi certainly seemed to thrawt the Morristown attack for the rest of the first half.

1776 manager Aaron Hyndman along with assistant Ryan Vinton inserted Jack Taylor as the lone striker in the 4-2-3-1 formation at the half and it appeared to pay returns as Taylor beat the keeper but was denied by the post in the 53rd minute.

Walkill put the nail in the '76 coffin in the 80th minute on a brillant half volley that sailed over keeper Steve Pallone's outstretch gloves.

Morristown is next in action vs Ballyoween FC (1-6, 3 pts) Wednesday night in Roseland, NJ (6:30pm)
