Thursday Notes: Herte Returns, Clayton Back From Loan

(Morristown,NJ)- Chris Herte, a late season addition to the Morristown 2009 MCSSA side, former Florida Institute of Technology player and 2006 1st Team All-Mercer County Goalkeeper while playing for West Windsor South High School has agreed in principle to return for the club's 2010 MCSSA Campaign according to a source close to the club, terms of the deal are unavailable.

The versatile 6'4" Herte who appeared one game in goal and then anchored the central defense for The Continentals final 4 game playoff push last year gives Manager Clayton options on his usage.

The arrival of Herte creates competition for the keeper spot with a finally healthy Ryan Vinton, who played well in last Monday's friendly and appears to be near his pre-knee injury fitness, an also versatile Marco Carvallaro is also in the picture to be the #1.

Herte also presents an intriguing central defense pairing with veteran Mugs Naveendra, and sources close to the camp claim this is the most likely scenario.
