10 Man Continentals fall 4-2 to FS Walkill

(Hamburg, NJ) Peter Luthi found the net twice for The Morristown 1776 AFC but it wasn't enough as the club fell 4-2 in their first competive match of the season.

An early 10th minute goal gave the Continentals the early edge that they held almost until halftime. Soon after the 1776 allowed the tying goal in the 32nd minute a Rod Correa red card gave FS Walkill the man advantage as they converted the extra man into 2 late first half goals giving them a 3-1 halftime lead.

Luthi again scored in the second half (56') closing the score to 3-2 but Walkill soon regained the 2 goal advantage. Luthi fell short of the hat trick missing the net on a 75th minute penalty as the Continentals could not again close the advantage.
